While in the Coachella Valley area, head into Palm Springs and Palm Desert for some nights in the town and fine dining. Zip down to Salton Sea and cast your line to catch some tilapia. You might also see some threadfin shad, carp, red shiner, channel catfish, white catfish, largemouth bass, mosquitofish, and sailfin molly. Further past Joshua Tree is Indio, CA if you need to stop in town for supplies at the local Walmart.
